Update: Sayville Curves Looking for a New Owner

The owner of the Sayville Curves women's fitness center remains hopeful a new owner will be found by month's end given some good prospects approaching her about the business.

As Patch reported earlier this month, Curves' owner, Sharon Boyle, who has run the successful fitness operation since 2008, has to find a new operator due to personal commitments.

The exercise franchise is tucked, literally, in the corner of the Stop and Shop supermarket center on Montauk Highway in Sayville. There is a possibility of relocating to a larger and more prominent space within the same center, said Boyle.

“This is a great business for anyone who loves exercise and fitness and Sayville is such a friendly great town to run a business,” said Boyle. “I just can’t stay as the owner but I will be around to help the new owner and I’ll continue to promote curves everywhere I can,” she said.

The closest nearby Curve locations are in Holbrook and East Islip. While she believes many of her current customers will move to those locations if her place closes, Boyle is really hoping a new owner will appear so that the customers don’t have to make a move.

“This isn’t just a place to get in shape. People have forged great friendships and it’s a very social place for women to exercise and also find help and answers to things from fellow members. It’s a great group of people,” said Boyle.
