Summerfest Countdown: 2 Days to Kickoff

There's a kids race and the annual John P. Cohalan race during Summerest.

This year’s 33rd annual Summerfest event, called ‘Stars & Stripes,’ in Sayville, is taking place from Friday, August 1 through Sunday, August 3, and is even bigger and more packed with events and new programs than ever before.

A big draw every year is the John P. Cohalan4 Mile Run & Fun Run, which is the final race in the Sayville Summer Series. The race goes through downtown Sayville and this year it celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Sayville Library. A portion of the race fees will be donated to the library.

The race event is organized by Brendan Barrett and Mike Nolan, of the Sayville Running Company. If you haven’t registered yet, you can register at the Sayville Running Company on Main Street in Sayville, or the morning of the race.
