A Dash of Gossip & Main St. Undergoes a Business Rebirth

Four Sayville stores on Main are a beehive of activity and something cold is coming to town.

Patch has been sworn to secrecy but here’s a tidbit of gossip:  a former Sayville business that sold hot foods will soon be the location of business offering something cold and sweet. Stay tuned as we’ll have the scoop in the next week or so.

There’s a new art studio coming to Main Street in Sayville as well by early June. More to come end of month.

The Silica jewelry shop on South Main in Sayville is officially gone, with the only remnant of its past occupancy being two bright colored desks left on the curb last weekend.

There are rumors of a nail salon and a new, yet another, foot massage business looking to move into the empty storefront and neighboring vacant spots.

May brings more than a few grand opening celebrations to Sayville’s business district: Paper Dolls Vintage Clothing and Stars-Above, both on the north side of Main, will soon open their doors as renovations are completed in one and very close to completion in the other.

It's amazing how many great businesses are owned by women in our communities.

The senior citizen dinner/entertainment event in the Bayport-Blue Point school district last week was another annual success story, with 300 local residents enjoying a great meal, and terrific musical performances by students.

Good news Sayville Fitness fans – you’ll able to work out right at home again now that Hot Yoga on Main Street is re-opening with all your favorite workout gurus. Keep tuned for information on classes and schedules.

What a terrific time last weekend celebrating Spring Fest in Sayville. The Chamber of Commerce did another fabulous job in offering great performances and it was the nicest day yet to stroll down Main.

And if you haven’t gotten over to the Crushed Olive on Main in Sayville yet, or been to one of its sister stores in Huntington or Stony Brook get there.

I know for a fact it will change your complete perception of olive oil and balsamic vinegar forever. Look for a profile on this new store on Patch next week. You might just find yourself putting maple syrup balsamic vinegar on your pancakes this weekend. No joke.
