Sayville Residents Announce Free Seminar

Those looking to start a walking or beginner running fitness program are encouraged to attend.

Kiersten Bartolotta of and Brendan Barrett of Sayville Running Company are teaming up to get Sayville off of the couch.

On Monday, April 25, from 7-8 p.m., Bartolotta and Barrett are holding a free seminar on how to start a walking or beginner running fitness program at .

"So many people want to learn how to run but have no idea how to get started or want to walk on a regular basis but can't find the motivation to do it,” said Bartolotta. “This class is a great opportunity to get information on how to start living a healthy lifestyle and incorporate a beginner running or fitness walking program into your life right now."

All are encouraged to attend and learn how to start this program with a goal of completing a 5K charity walk/run. The free seminar will teach those in attendance how to start exercising on a regular basis, increase cardiovascular fitness, burn calories and develop a healthy lifestyle.

“Hopefully we'll get some new people interested in running,” said Barrett. “The idea of the seminar is just to point people in the right direction who might want to get active in running and walking but aren't sure where to start.”

Topics discussed will include how to start a walking or running program that focuses on interval pace training for an optimal workout; essential information on using a pedometer, apparel & shoe fit, pacing, heart rate training, & developing motivational and goal setting skills; discounts at Sayville Running Co & Walk To Run Fitness programs, the confidence and information you need to start a new exercise program that will help you achieve your fitness goals and free minipedometers for attendees while supplies last.
