Rita's Real Food Grand Opening

Bayport's local, organic and fresh food store on Middle Road cut the ribbon Friday.

The Bayport-Blue Point Chamber of Commerce welcomed a fresh new business into the community on July 30 for the grand opening of Rita's Real Food Store. At the event, approximately 20 people browsed the shelves and sampled foods that owner Rita Palma prepared with ingredients from her store.

Bayport-Blue Point Chamber of Commerce, Bayport Civic Association and local dignitaries gathered for the ribbon cutting event. After the ceremony everyone went inside to enjoy treats that Palma created.

It all started with selling the sweetest corn at her farm stand and has evolved into so much more.  Stop by Rita's Real Foods to see the fresh, colorful and delicious fruits and vegetables.  There is also organic dry goods, canned goods, meat and dairy, a majority of which comes from Long Island.  Some items are even grown organically just a few blocks away on McConnell Avenue in Bayport.
