Rebuild of Bayport's Le Soir Restaurant in Progress

Workers are on site at the Bayport Avenue French eatery and busy making needed renovations.

The rebuild of Bayport's famed French restaurant Le Soir is in progress as workers are busy renovating the eatery which was heavily damaged in a fire in mid July.

The restaurant's owners told Patch several weeks ago they were extremely grateful for the ocmmunity support and response after a basement fire nearly gutted the well-loved establishment which opened its doors in 1977.

Stay tuned to Patch as we will have more insight on the renovation work and planned re-opening.

Is it true that the owner/chef passed away recently?

Other restaurants should take note of the huge portions, Prix Fixe all but weekends, and meals starting under $30. What's in the area is very over priced compared to this place.

This is a lovely place to go for a special meal. I look forward to the day when it opens again.
