Readers' Choice: What's the Best Deli in Town?

Who's got the best salads, cold cuts and overall deli service between West Sayville and Blue Point?

For local residents who remember, there used to be a deli on nearly every corner between Sayville and Bayport. Remember Jack's Deli (now the Fish Store) or Mac's Deli (next to Cav's) and of course Ed's Deli, which is still a deli thank gosh.

Long Island delis are the best in the country and our communities have been home to the best of them. But which one slings the sandwiches you crave again and again?

A list of sandwiches named for local characters and attractions, gallon-sized cups of iced tea and every type of side salad you can imagine. Sound familiar? It’s the calling card of Long Island’s world-class delis. But the reality is, each have their own specialties that keep people coming back.

Each Monday we’ll list our nominees recommendations. Did we leave your go-to spot off the list? Go ahead and add it in comments.

On Friday we’ll tabulate all of the poll votes, comments, recent directory reviews and emails and crown a Reader’s Choice. Please only vote once in the poll, because any attempt to game the results could end up in your favorite businesses being disqualified.

Here are our nominees:

Furci's

The Sayville Sandwhich

Tom's Deli

Bayport Delicatessen (Middle Road)

Neighborhood Deli (the old Ed's deli on Montauk Hwy near Snedecor)
