It's Summerfest Weekend: 5 Things Not to Miss

The business group extravaganza offers something for everyone.

The Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce's annual downtown event, Summerfest, kicks off Friday night with the carnival at Gillette Park and boasts a full schedules of events both Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day.

This year's event, called 'Stars & Stripes,' boasts several new programs and events taking place on Main Street and adjoining streets. To help readers navigate what's new Patch offers up a list of five things not to miss during Summerfest.

  1. Saturday 1 PM: Gillette Stage acts kick-off at
  2. Saturday 11 a.m: Paint the Town Red Fashion Show on the Candee Avenue stage.
  3. Saturday 1 PM: Gillette Stage music acts kick-off with classic rock band Agenda.
  4. Saturday 9 a.m to 6 p.m. : Military exhibits, programs, displays, competitions and even rock wall climbing at the Sparrow Park area/South Main Street.
  5. Saturday 9 a.m to 9 p.m. : Beer & Wine Tasting Event tent at the Common Ground.

Admission to Summerfest is free, and convenient free offsite parking with shuttle rides to and from the fair will be available Saturday and Sunday from 9 am-10 pm, with the new trolley shuttle taking passengers to and from the Islip Grange (corner Montauk Hwy CR85/Broadway Ave. in Sayville) to the fair perimeter by the Sayville FD. Indoor baby comfort stations available for feeding/changing, free wheelchairs available.
