Fun Nearby: Trampoline Park Opening in Ronkonkoma

Air Trampoline Sports expected to open Lakeland Avenue location in early August.

Sachem area residents might be jumping for joy later this summer as Air Trampoline Sports announced it will be opening its trampoline and indoor sports park in Ronkonkoma next month.

The massive indoor facility is located at 1850 Lakeland Avenue and features 16,000 square foot of trampoline space, with another 10,000 square feet for freestyle and dodgeball courts, a foam pit, basketball slam dunk and a children’s area.

Air Trampoline will offer dodgeball pick-up and league tournaments, as well as aerobics classes at the facility.  

"We're excited to be Long Island's first trampoline park and look forward to opening a park that will be the destination for birthday parties and fitness," owner Ken Stone stated in a release.

According to an outgoing voice message from Stone, the park is expected to open in early August. The company has planned a grand opening event, part of the proceeds of which will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island. 

In the release it was stated that there are more than 150 indoor trampoline parks in America since they first gained popularity around 2008.
