Business Beat: Bayport Gets a New Tech Guru in Town

A Sayville IT/tech support company moves east to the Walter Geoghan building on Montauk Highway.

Everyone’s on the Internet these days and the more computing devices and mobile handsets, the more glitches, issues, virus episodes and overall tech mayhem.

A new business in Bayport hopes to be the solution to local community residents’ computing and connectivity challenges and Patch interviewed owner Jim Filiberto to find out what his company, Internet Solutions @ Total Office Tech, is all about.

Patch: So, are you a Bayport or Blue Point alumnus? Did you grow up around here?

I grew up on Long Island and initially had my business in Sayville, in the Stop and Shop center, before relocating recently to Bayport.

Patch: What services do you offer?

Computer services such as repairs (hardware and software), installations of wired and wireless networks and computer systems, general networking and systems administration, file recovery and forensics, file conversions, VHS to DVD conversions, high speed photo scanning, all levels of computer security.

Patch: What are some misconceptions businesses have about the Internet and using it as a business tool?

Not so much a misconception and something that needs to be addressed by most people on a serious level is system security at all levels for personal computers as well as network security.

Patch: What are your hours and do you have phone support services?

We are open seven days from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. but we do not have phone support services for non-contract clients.
