A Peek at the Pump: Gas Prices Hover at $4 Point

Just a few local stations offer regular under $4. Find out where.

Every penny counts when it comes to gas costs unless you happen to travel by bike or horse carriage these days.

Fuel remains hovering in the $4 per gallon range though a few local stations are keeping it just under that point.

Here's a look where the cheap and the expensive gas is this week:

OK Petroleum, at Foster and Middle Avenue in Sayville, has the cheapest regular gas at $3.999.

Hess in Bayport has the lowest Plus ($4.159) and lowest diesel price, $4.399.

Unbranded in Bayport has the lowest premium price of $4.059.

Valero in West Sayville is selling regular for $4.039 while BP in Blue Point is selling regular for $4.079.

If you're willing to go a bit east, Unbranded at the corner of Montauk Highway and Medford Avenue in Patchogue is selling regular at $3.899.

Are you travelling a bit more to get a better price on gas these days? Are you consolidating trips or car pooling with kid school runs? Got a tip on how to save on car fuel? Share it below.
