#93 – Taste Some Unique Wines

Check out Down the Rabbit Hole on Main Street.

When Down the Rabbit Hole Wine Boutique opened on Main Street in Sayville, many marveled at the incredibly small size of the store. Walking into the Alice in Wonderland-themed shop, you will see wine bottles in their own small cubby holes, lining the side of the store. And despite its former home as an alleyway, the location works just perfectly. The website for the store says “we believe buying wine should be as fun as drinking it.”

All of the wines are presented by taste sensation, such as “fruity” instead of by region or grape. No one should have to study to find a truly superb bottle of wine! Instead, let your senses and experiences guide you,” says owner Suzanne McDonald.

The artisanal boutique carries wines you won’t be able to find anywhere else on Long Island. Most of the bottles are small production, organic or biodynamic. The shop features a small tasting table at the end and they offer complimentary tastings daily so you can decide for yourself what you really like.
