7 Shopping Days Left: Buried Treasures is a Bounty of Gift Ideas

This Sayville business icon is a treasure trove of unique gifts.

If you haven't discovered the perfect gift yet Patch wants to make sure you do and will be spotlighting ideas at local businesses every day until Dec. 25 between Blue Point and West Sayville.

Today Patch spotlights Buried Treasures, a Sayville gift shop owned and operated by Josef Delfino for 28 years in various locations in the downtown shopping district, the last four years on Main Street.

Exquisite, one-of-a-kind, unique, rare, hard-to-find, gorgeous and classy are all apropo in describing what Buried Treasures offers the gift buyer. The shop boasts creative works of 50 local artists and treasures Delfino finds on his constant patrolling of estate sales, auction events, NYC shops and through his business network.

"I stay away from 'trends' and am always on the look out for what's different, what's unique, what no one else has," Delfino told Patch.

There are items for men and women though no children's gifts. The shopfront is full of one-of-a-kind jewelry crafted by local residents, and keepsakes likely found only in few other places.
