Yes, stocking stuffers can pose a stressful challenge for shoppers. You can’t just fill a stocking with socks and underwear for boys and hair clips and lotions for girls. And adult stocking stuffer ideas are even a bit tougher. After all who needs another holiday tie or aftershave or M&M candy cane?
But luckily, local businesses offer up a creative list of stocking gift options and plenty of great stocking gift ideas, ranging from very modest prices to a little bit more expensive.
Patch caught a few online at local business websties, and by walking the shopping districts between West Sayville and Blue Point and wanted to share the found bounty:
Buy 2 Get 1 Free Holiday Ornaments
There's a great deal at Country Junque on Middle Road in Bayport: buy two Christmas ornaments and get one free (of equal value), so you can gift two friends and yourself!
Give a Gift of Culinary Satisfaction:
Butera's Restaurant in Sayville is running a gift certificate holiday special through this Sunday, December 16. Anyone who buys a $150 worth of gift cards (which make a perfect gift for co-workers, bosses, valued business partners) will get a $25 gift card free (which Patch recommends using for yourself since you clearly deserve it after the holiday mayhem).
Decadence Isn't a Bad Thing to Give
As the saying goes, some of the best things really do come in small packages. And we're not just talking diamonds and new car keys. A great example are the decadent sea salt caramels available now at the Sayville Chocolatier. They're perfect to fill a stocking. You can also add some some peanut brittle that is available in three outlandish flavors, peanut butter pretzel, maple bacon, and chili pepper.

Anything That Sparkles is Typically Well Received
Another small package that most people love is the jewelry box. And there are tons of options at Kay Cameron in Sayville this year and most won't break the bank. A great choice is a charm or two from Pandora, such as this year's Christmas tree, the CZ snowflake, the new stocking and the new glittering CZ beads. Patch's favorite though are the starfish pendants with birthstones on sterling silver chains. A perfect idea for the man in the family is a Grand Band money holder that come in various designs. An inexpensive ($8) and useful stocking stuffer is a dazzle stick used to clean gold and diamond jewelry. Or how about a jewelry cloth to polish up your favorite pieces?
