Share Your Worst School Back-to-School Memory

That first day of school can be an emotional one for many reasons.

The start of a school year brings a lot of emotions: excitement, fear, depression and anticipation.

That first day back is exceptionally emotional as kids wonder who'll have the locker next to them, what new teachers await, if lunch will be worse (aka healthier)  than ever in the cafeteria.

And typically everyone has had one unusual back-to-school experience. For Patch it was playing in the kindergarten playground on the first day of school and tripping on the pebble strewn play area. (Yes, back in the day Sylvan Avenue Elementary's playground out front had all pebbles in the play area... as well as concrete animal figures to climb on. No one has yet been able to explain the rationale for such things.)

The result? Three deeply embedded pebbles in the left knee which still bears a faded scar from where the school nurse played surgeon. And no, Patch did not get out of going to kindergarten but Patch did take big advantage of nap time that day.

So what's your most vibrant memory of back to school days? Comment below and we'll compile them into a story later in the week.
