B-BP Welcomes 9 New Teachers to District

Staff orientation provides insight on policies and district procedures.

The Bayport-Blue Point School District welcomed nine new faculty members
during a summer new teacher orientation program.

After hearing welcome addresses by both Superintendent of Schools Dr. Vincent Butera and Board of  Education President Rebecca Campbell, the new faculty members were provided  with an overview of district practices and procedures, embarked on a short bus tour of the community and were given the opportunity to ask any questions they had about the school district.

“Our goal is that this day provided our new teachers with an introduction
to our school system and served as the foundation for the comprehensive teacher program we plan to initiate this year,” said Dr. Timothy Hearney, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction.

“Throughout the course of the year, we will be meeting to provide continued support to these new staff members, as well as to discuss what good instructional practices look like and how to incorporate those practices in the classroom," he added.
