As parents and students get ready to get back to school local school districts are putting the finishing touches on repair and renovation work at school buildings.

In the Bayport-Blue Point district the district completed several large summer projects at the middle school.

These included cosmetic, electrical maintenance and reorganization initiatives in the main office, ceiling work in both the main office and the economics and world language hall area, and grounds keeping work in the courtyard and in the front of the building.

In addition several administration offices got a refresh and minor décor renovations. The work in the admin area, according to school officials, was the first revamp in over a decade for most of the areas.

The district office lunchroom, which had not been repainted since 2009, and the facilities secretarial area, which had not been repainted since 1998, were also given new paint for a total of $100.
