Sunday, we posted about Suffolk County Police Department's announcement of Operation Medicine Cabinet, which offers a solution for people looking to drop off their unwanted prescription drugs in a safe, anonymous way. We also provided a list of boats and other marine items for sale in the area in our weekly feature, Craigslist finds.

Monday, the weekly tide table went up, and we listed the week's incidents (4) and arrests (1) in our crime report. We covered the debut of Grey Horse Tavern's "Rolling Kitchen," a trailer which will be home to the restaurant's new farm-to-table catering company on wheels.

Though we don't have a train station in Bayport or Blue Point, the Long Island Railroad fire on Monday likely affected residents in some way. The incident affected Monday and Tuesday's LIRR schedule, and continued for most of the week. On Tuesday, we also provided coverage of the Fly In at the Bayport Aerodrome and posted a video of vintage airplanes taking off.

Wednesday, we provided an in-depth look at the history of the speeding issues on Middle Road and the controversy the recently installed stop signs have caused. We found that whether residents love them or hate them, a majority of "Bayportians" have a strong opinion about the signs.

Two drivers escaped injury in an accident that took place late Thursday afternoon at 808 Sylvan Avenue in Bayport. Bayport Fire Department and Community Ambulance Company rushed to the scene. While the car accident focused on the present, our history columnist brought us into the past by explaining the history behind the Blue Point Oyster on Thursday.

Islip Town made Patch headlines again this week. On Friday, we posted an article further investigating the recent audit of the town. Republican Council members requested an investigation into information that was removed from a preliminary audit.

Saturday, we posted a video of the American Dance Theatre of Long Island performing at the Sayville Common Ground. The group performed their "Summer Celebration of Dance." Also, we posted pictures of Bayport-Blue Point Junior Varsity Football playing in a charity scrimmage against Sayville at Bay Shore High School.
