Framing Sayville - Flying Dutchmen

Loud....Crazy..... Fast.....Furious. That's the name of the game at the West Sayville Fire Department.

The Flying Dutchmen may be gearing down for the season, but the adrenaline is still pumping through their veins. Those who have never witnessed a Firemen's Drill Competition should  check it out.

Imagine hanging off the back of a truck racing down the road at top speeds of 75 mph, screetching to a halt, jumping off with a ladder that you will hold steady while your team mate to climb 200 feet to the top of a tower. It may look crazy and a little out of control, but there truly is skill involved – concentration, balance, speed, strength, endurance, and a great deal of trust in your teammates to do their part.

The West Sayville FD Flying Dutchmen Drill Team will compete this weekend at the Hagerman FD Invitational Drill.
