David Funn Brings Magic to Sayville

Family Fridays draws a crowd to the Common Ground.

David Funn brought his magic tricks to the Common Ground in Sayville recently for an evening of entertainment for all. The interactive program was designed to include parents as well as their kids.

Funn kept the children involved and entertained for almost an hour with a program that allowed them to be a part of the magic. He warmed up the crowd with a few jokes and told all the kids about the magic words they had to yell if they wanted the tricks to work: "tomato ice cream."

The audience members helped Funn perform some tricks. He ripped up a newspaper and put to back together with the help of some volunteers. Funn called on 10-year-old Franceso to help demonstrate the mystery of the Chinese linking rings. Parents didn't get off as just spectators – they were required to participate too. David turned handkerchiefs into an American flag (after a few unsuccessful attempts) and also made his rabbit appear.

In addition to his magic shows, he does comedy shows, ESP, mind reading and close-up mini illusions. He is available for private parties, birthdays and other functions.
