Bayport-Blue Point Weekend Happenings

Have nothing to do this weekend? Here is a list of numerous events scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday right in Bayport and Blue Point.

No plans this weekend? Don't stay at home bored, there are plenty of things going on throughout the weekend. The long days of summer are almost over, so use them wisely by browsing through this list of events for Bayport-Blue Point and the surrounding area.

  • Blue Restaurant's Friday happy hour features half-priced drinks beginning at 4 p.m., with a DJ starting up at 5 p.m. On Saturday at Blue, a "Top 40" DJ sets up at 9:30 p.m. for Ladies Night.
  • Teenagers could head to the Bayport-Blue Point Public Library to watch According to Greta for the library's Young Adult Movie Night from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. No registration is necessary. Popcorn and beverages are supplied.
  • Enjoy some live music Friday night at the Grey Horse Tavern, where the Lone Sharks will perform at 9:30 p.m.
  • The Patchogue Arts Council is holding its Walking Arts Tour kick off mixer party at Blue Point Center for Visual Arts on Saturday at 6 p.m. Festivities will include an outdoor screening of video works, refreshments, and of course art. This party will also serve as a mixer and membership drive for Patchogue Arts Council members new and old.
  • Interested in Tai Chi? Check out a two-hour class taking place at Shorefront Park on Saturday morning. 
  • The Grey Horse Tavern will also feature live music on Saturday night. Easy Chief, an American roots music band, is set to perform at the restaurant at 10 p.m.
  • Long Island Maritime Museum in West Sayville is holding their annual Seafood, Crafts & Music Festival, beginning at 10 a.m. This Festival offers family entertainment, tons of craft vendors, green lifestyle exhibits, savory seafood, beer and wine gardens.  Plus children's activities, boat rides, pirates, free parking and shuttle buses.  Live music from noon to 6:00 p.m. 
  • Head over to Blue Point Brewing Company in Patchogue on Sunday to hear live music for the company's Rhythm and Brews Festival. Concert will feature Bill Kreutzmann & Mickey Hart's Rhythm Devils, Tim Bluhm, Davy Knowles, Sikiru Adepoju, Andy Hess, & more! Tickets are $39, pints and food will be available.
