Now in its 18th year, the Stony Brook Film Festival has kicked off its run run of more than 30 films over 10 days.
Passes to the entire festival are $80, while single tickets to each film are $9.
Filmgoers can expect a selection of foreign films, independent American films and shorts across a wide range of genres.
A number of filmmakers and actors are expected to attend the festival this year, including Stephen Dorff, Jena Malone and Chloe Sevigny, for question-and-answer sessions that will follow many of the screenings.
