Weekend Guide: Classical and Popular Music Performances in B-BP

Events and activities taking place in Bayport-Blue Point the first weekend of October.

It's almost the weekend, and that means you're ready to get out and have fun, but you don't have to travel far for that. Bayport-Blue Point kicks off the first days of October this weekend with plenty of local events the entire family can enjoy. Don't worry if you haven't made plans yet, we've got you covered. Take a look at the list of events we've compiled and you're one step closer to ringing in the new month.

Live Music

Where/When: Bayport; Sept. 30, 8 p.m.

Why Go: The takes the stage at one of Bayport's most popular restaurants, Grey Horse Tavern, or GHT, Friday night. Their dinner menu includes pasta dishes, burgers, sandwiches, salads and more.

Bayport Garage Sale

Where/When: 205 S Gillette Ave, Bayport; Oct. 1, 9 a.m.

Why Go: Wide variety of items for sale at a great price, including home furnishings, kids stuff, construction materials and more.

Italian Festival

Where/When: East Main St and South Ocean Ave, Patchogue; Oct. 1, noon

Why Go: Ciao bella! Join The Greater Patchogue Foundation Inc., Cultural Heritage Committee for the . Buy Italian specialty foods, participate in a Bocce Ball tournament and Italian karaoke, and take a look at some classic vehicles at the event's antique car show, along with many more activities.

Musical Performance

Where/When: ; Oct. 2, 2 p.m.

Why Go: Head over to the library for a flute and harp performance with Karin Marcello and Karen Lindquist. The playlist will include classical pieces as well as selections from Karin Marcello's orginal work.
