Cops: Sayville Man Employed as High School Coach Possessed Steroids
A Sayville man who works as a Lindenhurst High School gym teacher and volleyball coach is facing charges of possessing anabolic steroids, according to Suffolk Police.

Suffolk County Police arrested Kevin Muscarello, 40, on Sunday just after 11 a.m. near Vanderbilt Parkway and Commack Road in Commack according to published reports.

Local Political Races This Year and Next 
The political season this year and even next year's are in swing. State Sen. Lee Zeldin and George Demos, both Republicans who have run before, have their sights on Democratic Rep. Tim Bishop's seat. A former Assemblyman may run for Zeldin's State Senate seat.

Sayville Charity Donates $1K to Ronald McDonald House
Home Runs for Charity, a Sayville not- for- profit organization that supports local charitable organizations that was started by Sayville Middle School seventh  grader Noah Horak, officially gave back on Monday, September 30 during the annual Little League Banquet by presenting a check in the amount of $1,000 to Long Island’s own Ronald McDonald house. 

Bayport Fourth Graders Get a Hands-On History Lesson
Academy Street Elementary School fourth-graders had the chance to learn about the lives and culture of the first Americans during a hands-on workshop called “Journey into Native American Territory.” 

The program, which served as a complement to the grade-level’s curriculum, focused on the Eastern Woodlands people and included both visual presentations as well as group activities.If it seems like October is flying faster than September, Patch agrees. Vacant Blue Point Gas Station on Auction Block
The abandoned and longtime vacant Getty gas station and convenience property on Montauk Highway in Blue Point is now on the auction block.
The 1.04 acre parcel, which is sometimes home to a random yard sale or car sale, is featured on a property for sale site run by NRC Realty & Capital Advisors site.
