Back to Basics: The Spring Kitchen
Join Emilie Zaweski of Jamesport Harvest and Debbie Schmitt of Schmitts Family Farm to learn how to cook dishes using local, in-season food.  Emilie and Debbie will be whipping up soup, salad and pasta dishes featuring delectable springtime veggies and herbs. Abandoned Trunks

Join Monica Randall as she brings back to life the sensational and colorful era of Long Island’s Gold Coast at the Bayport-Blue Point Library. This slideshow will showcase many of the treasures that were found in the abandoned steamer trunks of the crumbling Gold Coast mansions, namely fabled gowns worn by some of Long Island’s most celebrated ladies.  Learn about Alva Vanderbilt’s $20,000 jewel studded Marie Antoinette gown, the legendary Arabian nights galas staged by Louis C. Tiffany, and the most expensive party ever given in America.
