Send us your snapshots of the community, whether your pictures showcase a local beach or your backyard on a snowy day.

You don't have to be a professional photographer to capture a great moment, and the seemingly limitless number of applications available for smartphones has made it easier for the average person to take a poignant picture.

Leisure shutter bugs can use free apps like Instagram and paid ones like Hipstamatic to give their phone camera photos a vintage feel. The apps use old school lens and film emulators to make photos look like they came from another era.

We'll accept your pictures- enhanced for a vintage effect, or unchanged- and e-mail you a response to confirm photo credit.

Send to:

emily@Patch.com, please include "Reader Photo" in the subject line. Let us know the photographer's name and hamlet (West Sayville, Sayville, Bayport or Blue Point) and provide a brief description of the photo.

Looking forward to seeing your photos of the community.
