Just in time for the Fall Festival weekend in Sayville, and upon the request of the Sayville Chamber, Sayville Middle School and High School art students hit Main Street last week to bewitch the storefront windows with magical designs.

For longer than anyone seems to remember, the Sayville Kiwanis Club has been donating painting supplies to the art students to support the annual Halloween Window Painting.

After reviewing the sketches culled from many student submissions, members of the Sayville school art department determine which would be most suitable for those select Sayville merchants who have agreed to showcase student designs.

This year, the dry and temperate weather couldn’t have been more perfect. The young artists and accompanying art teachers enjoyed the sun and warmth as ordinary glass windows were transformed into exciting Halloween visions.

Evidence of apparitions of ghouls, goblins, witches, and whimsy decorating Downtown Sayville in the spirit of the bewitching season is proof that the long-standing partnership between the Kiwanis Club and the Sayville Art Department is alive and kicking.
