Snow Scenes: Blizzard #2 Hits Bayport, Blue Point and Sayville

Travel wise, the local main roads are mostly decent on Wednesday mid day, after the second blizzard of 2014 dumped an average of 10 inches between Blue Point and West Sayville Tuesday.

But the back roads have much to be desired as several motorists found out the hard way. Several cars had trouble navigating railroad crossings in Bayport, and the corner of Bayport Avenue and Montauk Highway hardly looked plowed.

The harsh temps, hovering about 10 degrees, seemed to be keeping most residents inside though someone had been out at some point given most driveways and walkways were cleared.

Here's a gallery of shots Patch grabbed on a loop around town. We'll have more later in the day. If you've got one to share send it to the editor, Judy.Mottl@patch.com and we'll include it. Just let us know when and where it was taken and who to credit.
