Sayville's 31st annual SummerFest is set for this weekend and early weather predictions show that Mother Nature is cooperating. This Sayville tradition includes fun activities for the entire family.

The official opening ceremonies for the weekend-long event, which is sponsored by the Sayville Chamber of Commerce, are set for 5 p.m. on Friday followed by some musical performances on Gillette Stage Park. Admission and parking are both free.

"Sayville Summerfest is our largest fundraiser and enables the Sayville Chamber of Commerce to run different events throughout the year such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Fall Fest and Halloween Parade, Miracle on Main Street and of course the beautification including our sitting areas, hanging planters, Holiday Lighting and more," said Chamber President Rich Trpicovsky and event chair Jane Berger. "Our shops and restaurants will be open during this festival so please enjoy visiting them for unique items and a pleasant shopping and dining experience."
