Sayville Church Pays Homage to Newtown Tragedy

The Sayville Congregational United Church of Christ has erected a memorial built with school backpacks in honor of the 20 children and six educators killed by a gunman in Newtown, CT. The packs bear the names of those lost in the tragic event that rocked the nation. The public witness effort was created by Deacon Hank Maust. Many in the church congregation have signed a petition for a ban on military assault weapons and high capacity ammunition clips.
