The Seafarer Gift Shop at 28 South Main Street in Sayville is looking for volunteers and donations today to help a Sayville family who lost their house to a fire after the arrival of Hurricane Sandy.
"If you are free today (now is good!) I've spearheaded a food and clothing drive for hurricane victims," said Barbara Whitbread, store owner, in an email this morning sent about 8:30 a.m.
"I have cleared the tables of merchandise and have a growing pile of food and clothing donations that need to be sorted. I need volunteers as fast as possible."
