Readers' Choice Winner: Sunken Forest Top 'Staycation' Destination

When it comes to getting ‘away’ without going too far from Sayville or Bayport the Sunken Forest on Fire Island seems to be the top favorite ‘staycation’ destination for local residents. The glorious beach trail beat out two lighthouse destinations and even Mystic's scenic port.

Readers were polled early this week to vote for their favorite place to go when they don't feel like traveling too far.
