Planning Board, Cryptoquote and Quiz Night

A list of local scheduled events for Monday, Nov. 8.

Exercise your brain after what was hopefully a relaxing weekend, with cryptoquote class at the library and quiz night at the Sage Cafe. Here's a list of other local happenings.

  • Town of Brookhaven Planning Board meeting. Scheduled for 4 p.m. at 1 Independence Hill in Farmingville. View the agenda here.
  • It's Love Mondays at Blue. Half-off all drinks and sushi/lounge menu. Every Monday, Sage Cafe features Quiz Night hosted by Angela, 7:30 p.m. 
  • Attend a puzzling class at the : Secrets to Solving Cryptoquote. During the program, which begins at 7 p.m., participants will learn how to solve the puzzle Cryptoquote, published daily in Newsday. The need to relay secret communications dates back thousands of years, giving rise to the inventions of codes and ciphers. This can't-miss class is for beginner through accomplished. Registration by phone, online or at the Reference desk is required.

  • Don't forget! Local eateries Le Soir and Blue are offering a special menu and deals as part of Long Island Restaurant Week. For one week, all participating restaurants will offer a three-course prix fixe for $24.95 per person all night, except Saturday, when it will only be available until 7 p.m.
