Pilots Fly In for a Fun Weekend at the Bayport Aerodrome

Pilots from across the country gathered at Bayport Aerodrome for the Antique Airplane Club of Greater New York's annual "fly-in."

The Antique Airplane Club of Greater New York sponsored their annual "fly-in" this past weekend at the Bayport Aerodrome. Visiting pilots from across the country gathered at the Islip Town owned-and-operated field, which was named to the National Register of Historic Places as a national historic district in 2008.

Besides giving the fellow pilots an opportunity to catch up, the three-day weekend event boasted a variety of fun activities, such as a pig roast and movie showings. The aviators also participated in flight demonstrations, spot-landing contests and flour "bomb" drops.
