It was standing-room only for those who didn't stake out a spot hours before the annual Bayport-Blue Point St. Patrick's Day parade on Sunday.
All the eyes were smiling, not just the Irish ones and not just the old ones.
Senator Charles Schumer walked the route shaking hands. The family of Doug Monsell, who was honored as grand marshal, was greeted with loud applause and support along the march from Snedecor Avenue to Blue Point Avenue.
