Nominate the Worst RR Crossing Between Blue Point and Sayville

Which drive-over crossing has your cringing about potential car damage?

As anyone in Bayport knows, the railroad crossing on McConnell Avenue, if taken too fast, can literally move internal body organs into new places.

The same is very true for the crossing on Lincoln Avenue. That one can make drivers hit their heads on car roofs.

Patch knows this to be true unfortunately.

But which one is really the very worst -- which one makes drivers cringe as they hear front end alignments shimmy out and wheels hit deep grooves and wonder if the steering will work once past the crossing.

Tell us which railroad crossing between Blue Point and West Sayville is the worse and then we'll see what we can do to get the MTA/LIRR on the fix.

Oakwood wins by huge margin! Most of us go over to use McConnell.

Probably should have said "loses".

I also hope everyone that wanted the big green ugly fence along the tracks to go up.That was the worst idea ever just look at all the weeds. HOW BEAUTIFUL...MAYBE THE people that wanted the fence should weed it.. now we are talking

The tracks on Cherry Avenue in W. Sayville are awful. The plates look like they are standing up and I hate to drive over it every day.

You nailed it, McConnell avenue. If I forget to tense up my body, I will always hit my head on the side window. And that's driving slow!

So many good choices for the damage to all our cars.. McConnell, Lincoln, and I don't care much for the one at Gillette Ave either.

Oakwood, unless you hit it at an angle: westward while going north, eastward while going south. Minimizes the effect.
