Unlike many communities across Long Island Thursday night, the areas of Blue Point to West Sayville didn't lose power, according to LIPA's power outage website. By early this morning even the remaining rain that poured down was nearly gone.
The forecast for today is cloudy with a good chance of showers and temps about 80 degrees. The UV index is still high, at 7, so sunscreen is still a good idea.
Tonight brings a 30 percent chance of rain and the promise of temperatures under 70 degrees. So open those windows and turn off the AC.
