News Nearby: Good Samaritan Hosting "A Night at the Races"

The Kentucky Derby is coming to the South Shore and it's for a good cause.

The Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation’s is hosting a fundraiser called "Night At The Races." The event will feature casino-style games, video horse racing, music and food on Thursday, April 25 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Venetian Yacht Club.

Tickets are $75 per person and include an open bar, buffet dinner, DJ, dancing, and games. Proceeds will go towards the renovation of the hospital’s Pediatric Unit.

The Venetian will be transformed into a Derby-themed casino for the event. Each guest will be given $200 in Good Sam Bucks and have the opportunity to play casino games including blackjack, roulette, craps and eight video horse races. Winnings can be exchanged for prizes. 

There will also be “Triple Crown” raffles and a “Best in Show” hat contest in honor of the upcoming Kentucky Derby.
