Music, Centerpieces and Spinning

Information on local scheduled events for Wednesday, Dec. 15.

Residents of the Bayport-Blue Point area stay involved with their community even during the busy holiday season. Local holiday traditions, such as the , decorations and Chamber of Commerce events draw people to B-BP from all over Long Island.
  • Spin for a Cause Fundraiser presented by the  PTA to benefit families in the school community for the holiday season. Ride, donate or do both on Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 10:30 a.m. or Thursday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. There is a $20 donation to ride in a 45 minute Spin Class at CYCLE EVOLUTION located in East Islip Health & Fitness, 269 East Main St., East Islip.   • At noon, there is a Christmas Organ Recital at the Congregational Church of Patchogue, 95 East Main St. The 30-minute concert, featuring Dr. Carol Weitner, includes a discussion of the musical offerings. After the concert, a luncheon is offered for $7 in the reception room. 
  • Town of Brookhaven Zoning Board meeting, 3 p.m. at Brookhaven Town Hall, 1 Independence Hill, Farmingville.
  •  varsity wrestling team takes on Miller Place at 4:30 p.m., at the high school.
  • Music students in the sixth grade at  present their Winter Concert in the high school auditorium at 7 p.m.
  • For $10 at , you can learn how to make a centerpiece of fresh greens to adorn your holiday table. Greens will stay fresh throughout the holidays. Patrons are requested to being garden clippers, florist knife (optional) and scissors. You might want to bring gloves, too. A fee of $10 includes all materials (greens and a container), and is due at in-person registration. 
  • Karaoke Night happens every Wednesday at 9 p.m.  in Blue Point.
