UPDATE: Lions Group Responsible for Quiet Rembrance of 9/11

The American flags along Middle Road from Blue Point through Bayport were put in place by a local Lions Club.

The mystery around  who planted dozens and dozens of flags along Middle Road, from the Blue Point Elementary School to the Bayport-Sayvlle border in the past week has been solved.

The flag path is a simple but moving patriotic expression marking the anniversary of 9/11 on Tuesday.

The project was the work of the Blue Point Bayport Lions Club and LEO Club.  This is the second year that that the group has done it, as a quiet remembrance of 9/11, and to encourage patriotism and love of the country.
