The mystery around who planted dozens and dozens of flags along Middle Road, from the Blue Point Elementary School to the Bayport-Sayvlle border in the past week has been solved.
The flag path is a simple but moving patriotic expression marking the anniversary of 9/11 on Tuesday.
The project was the work of the Blue Point Bayport Lions Club and LEO Club. This is the second year that that the group has done it, as a quiet remembrance of 9/11, and to encourage patriotism and love of the country.
"We hope that the community enjoys and remembers," stated Barbara Schwall
VP, Blue Point Bayport Lions Club, told the Patch in an email Monday.
