Meet Whiz Kid Scott Davidson

Meet Sayville's younger generation in this weekly column.

Patch Whiz Kid of the Week: Scott Davidson

  • Scott, from Troop 184, was nominated by Ed Neale
  • Scott is Troop 184’s newest Eagle Scout
  • Sayville resident Scott Davidson, 17, became an Eagle Scout, the highest Boy Scout ranking, in a recent court of honor ceremony.
  • Davidson has been in the Boy Scouts since first grade when he started as a Tiger Cub in Pack 184 of Sunrise Drive Elementary School. Since that time, he has served many different roles within the troop including Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Chaplain's Aide, a Scribe and Instructor.  For his Eagle Scout project, Davidson designed and fundraised for a meditation garden at St. Lawrence the Martyr Church’s Bethany Center. He is an active member of the church, where he has been an Altar Server since the fourth grade. Davidson plans to attend college soon, but wants to stay involved with Troop 184 in the years ahead and eventually become an assistant scoutmaster.
