Islip Shelter Animals of the Week

Suzy and Sandy are on the search for a home.

The Town of Islip Animal Shelter is home to many lovable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens that are desperately looking to join the right family.  The shelter takes great pride in providing a clean and caring environment for all of their pets.

Say hello to Suzy. She is a German Shepherd who is neutered and up-to-date with all of her routine shots and vaccinations. Suzy's Pet ID Tag Number is 1593.

This girl's motto is "work hard, play hard." Suzy sticks to her herding instincts and is a true working dog.

Although she likes to channel her high energy into work, Suzy is also a friendly pup and is always up for play time.

Not only is Suzy sweet as can be but the Islip Animal Shelter says she is highly intelligent and self-confident.

Suzy knows what she likes and what she doesn't like. She would prefer to be placed in a home without any small children and with a family who will understand what a working dog is all about.

If you think Suzy is the shepherd for you, the shelter invites you to come in and meet her.

What's the point of going to the beach this summer if you're not going to get a little Sandy? Sandy is a young female Shiba Inu and Labrador Retriever mix.

Sandy has had it rough. Before her life at the shelter, Sandy was in a home with people who did not treat her right. Thanks to the shelter, the staff is helping to bring out her fun and loving personality.

The shelter says Sandy is an intelligent girl who is picking up her basic obedience commands nicely. She enjoys a good walk and is reportedly doing well on a leash.

This pup will need an experienced owner to make her 'tail' a happy one. The shelter says Sandy deserves a warm and loving family to help her become a strong and confident canine.

Sandy is neutered and up-to-date with all of her routine shots and vaccinations. Her Pet ID Tag Number is 1907.

All animals at the shelter (210 South Denver Avenue, Bay Shore) are vaccinated, spayed and neutered before leaving. The organization requires a pet adoption fee along with a pet application which can be found on the their website.
