Islip Shelter Animals of the Week

Who needs a summer home when you can bring an adoptable animal home instead?

The Town of Islip Animal Shelter is home to many lovable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens that are desperately looking to join the right family.  The shelter takes great pride in providing a clean and caring environment for all of their pets

Say hello to Sarah. This girl is an adult Collie mix. She is neutered and up-to-date with all of her routine shots and vaccinations.

Sarah is as cute as Collies come. She may not be a seeing-eye dog but Sarah's eyes are definitely a sight to see. Although she sports a dark patch around her left brown eye, the rest of Sarah is as fluffy and white as snow.

Sarah is super friendly and the Islip Animal Shelter says this girl is one outgoing pup. Sarah is as smart as she is sweet. The shelter says she is highly intelligent and very easy to train.

This Collie isn't the calmest of the bunch and is more on the playful side. The shelter assures families that although Sarah likes to be active, she is happy just being with people and will always follow your lead. Sarah's Pet ID Tag Number is 1311.

This summer the stars are in line for Venus to find a home. Venus is just shy of her puppy years and is a young black Labrador and Retriever mix.

Venus has a velvet feel to her and would love for a family to pet her black and silky coat. With her adorable face and ears that perk up whenever people are around, it's difficult not to want to take her home.

The shelter says Venus is one of their more submissive dogs, making her an excellent listener and easy to train.

Venus is extremely affectionate and like most young pups, this girl loves to play. She would do very well in an active and of course loving home.

Venus is neutered and up-to-date with all of her routine shots and vaccinations. The shelter invites families looking for a friend to come in and meet this lovable lab mix.

All animals at the shelter (210 South Denver Avenue, Bay Shore) are vaccinated, spayed and neutered before leaving. The organization requires a pet adoption fee along with a pet application which can be found on the their website.
