Islip Shelter Animals of the Week

Meet the shelter's new summer canine catches.

The Town of Islip Animal Shelter is home to many lovable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens that are desperately looking to join the right family.  The shelter takes great pride in providing a clean and caring environment for all of their pets

Meet a pup who is not your average Jo Jo. He is a baby American Staffordshire Terrier mix. He is neutered and up-to-date on his routine shots.

Jo Jo is one of the cutest puppies at the shelter and he knows it. He has all the energy of a newborn and can play for days. As much as he enjoys being silly and goofy, the shelter says he is smart and a quick learner.

The shelter introduces us to Bentley the beagle. Bentley is a small adult male with a chestnut colored coat.

This beagle is sure to bring a smile to your face. The shelter says you can't help but laugh when he is around. Bentley may be small but he is a beagle with a big personality.

This little guy likes to follow his nose and is quite the investigator. Always hot on the trail, Bentley loves to explore and discover new things, especially if it means finding a yummy treat.

When he's not busy snooping, Bentley uses up all his of extra energy on playing. He loves a good game of fetch and the shelter says he would make an excellent addition to any family looking for a friend. Bentley is neutered and up-to-date on all of his routine shots and vaccinations.

All animals at the shelter (210 South Denver Avenue, Bay Shore) are vaccinated, spayed and neutered before leaving. The organization requires a pet adoption fee along with a pet application which can be found on the their website.
