Islip Shelter Animals of the Week

A dog and a cat that love people and enjoy the attention they deserve.

The Town of Islip Animal Shelter is home to many lovable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens that are desperately looking to join the right family.  The shelter takes great pride in providing a clean and caring environment for all of their pets

Meet this gem of a kitty. Pearl is a domestic short hair, gray and white cat looking for a home. She is neutered and up-to-date on all of her routine shots and vaccinations.

The Islip Animal Shelter describes Pearl as a sweetie pie. She is great with people  and enjoys cuddling up to her human friends. She also enjoys a good scratch behind her ears. Whether it be getting attention from people or basking in a sunny window, Pearl loves the lime light.

Meet a dog with a personality as big as his tail. Brownie is an adult-male, shepherd mix. Despite his name, Brownie's coloring is far from a chocolate look. Instead this doggy sports a beautiful chestnut color.

According to the shelter, Brownie has a love for life. From playing in the snow and outdoors to getting a good belly rub, this guy's tail never seems to stop wagging. The shelter feels that with his sweet personality, Brownie will do well in just about any home.

Brownie is neutered and up-to-date on all of his shots and vaccinations. His Pet ID Tag Number is 4296.

All animals at the shelter (210 South Denver Avenue, Bay Shore) are vaccinated, spayed and neutered before leaving. The organization requires a pet application which can be found on the their website.
