Islip Officials Honor Local Residents
Member of the armed services, local fire chief among those presented with commendations.
Town of Islip officials over the past several weeks honored a host of residents across the township with a variety of accolades for service to their communities.
Among the honorees were Joseph Badala, chief of the West Islip Fire Department, Father Rick Simpson, of St. Mark’s Church in Islip and Pvt. Nicholas Makowicz III, who recently returned home from a tour of duty in Iraq.
In addition, members of the Group Study Exchange Brazil/USA were also welcomed to Islip by town officials.
