Homemade Costumes Make Local Girl Scouts Shine
Bayport-Blue Point Girl Scout troops dressed in costumes for Sayville's Holiday Parade.
The annual Sayville Holiday Parade kicks off the season for the local communities in a festive way. Every year Girl Scout troops from Bayport and Blue Point march in the parade, along with other local businesses and organizations.
Saturday morning was chilly as the parade began, but the holiday spirit and hot cocoa warmed the marchers. Bayport-Blue Point Girl Scout troops wore holiday costumes that they crafted themselves.  This year the girls dressed as Christmas trees, silver bells, gifts and presents.
Daisy Girl Scout, Lily, of Bayport said, "I like being a Christmas tree and marching."
