Have You Seen Oliver? Missing Cat in Bayport

This male tabby went missing before Sandy arrived and her family is worried.

Have you seen Oliver? He went missing before Super Storm Sandy hit Long Island, and his Bayport family has been looking for him ever since and is asking help in finding him.

The shorthair grey striped tabby, who is described by his family as small to medium size, is a four-year-old adult male who was last seen on at his home on Lorie Lane on Monday, October 22.

He does not wear a collar, as the family has had little success keeping one on him.

"Oliver would often come home with his collar wrapped around his head and jaw in dangerous, contorted fashions as a result of his persistent efforts to get it off. The break-away collars designed to safely snap off in the instance that the cat may become snagged on a fence or elsewhere do simply that: break away almost immediately. Hence, Oliver fails to return wearing those after even a brief lark outdoors," his family told Patch in an email.

"We are also in the process of contacting shelters and animal hospitals in hopes of obtaining updates re. the arrival of our furry, friendly little man. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated!," states the email from the Druhm family.
