Always on a quest for something to do with your children? Each week Patch will bring you a list of kid-friendly events in Bayport-Blue Point and nearby.

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try  with children.

Families today are time-pressed, so Patch is happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable driving distance.

  • Bayport-Blue Point Little League Baseball and Softball Clinics - Feb. 9

These help prepare children for the upcoming season by doing drills and having fun.  There is no charge for the , which is geared towards students in pre-k through second grade.

James Wilson Young Middle School: T-ball and Farm League 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. and Single A through AAA 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Academy Street Elementary School: Softball K-1st grade 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Softball 2nd-4th grade 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Softball 5th grade-8th grade 8 p.m to 9:30 p.m.

  • Friendly's Valentine's Day Cones for Kids - Feb. 9-13

  • Cooking Freak - Order for Valentine's Day - Feb. 14

Order delicious cookies to put in your family's lunchboxes on Valentine's Day.  Cooking Freak is now taking orders for fresh baked chocolate heart shaped short bread cookies.  Baked to order with imported gourmet ingredients - $22 a lb.

  • Dinner for Valentine's Day -Feb. 14- Take Out! No cooking for mom tonight

Do your children love animals? Story books? If your youngsters are elementary-age, sign them up for half-hour appointments to read books to Callie - the "reading dog" at this Tuesday, Feb. 15.  Callie- a friendly Golden Retriever- patiently sits with children in as they read stories to her. 

  • Winter Break at Camp Edey - Feb. 22-25, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Plan ahead for winter break with a day camp for girls K to grade six.  Activities include arts and crafts, games, sports, sing-alongs and more.  Your girl does not have to be a Girl Scout to attend. Cost for the week is $155 for Girl Scouts and $167 for non-Girl Scouts.
