Always on a quest for something to do with your children? Each week Patch brings you a list of kid-friendly events in Bayport-Blue Point and nearby.

Families today are time-pressed, so Patch is happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable driving distance.

  • Shamrock Boxes - March 16, 4-5 p.m.

Create, design and paint shamrocks on these festive boxes to keep all your treasures in a special place. For teens in grades 6-12.

  • Bowlopolis League - March 17, 4:15 p.m.

Join P.A.L. bowling league for children ages 5-12. League runs for 10 weeks, starting on Thursday, March 17. Registration fee is $13 and weekly fee is $10 - which includes two games of bowling, shoe rental, P.A.L. tee shirt, Bowlopolis DVD and participation award.

  • Youth Advisory Council - March 18, 5:30 p.m.-6:15 p.m.

All teens are welcome to participate in the council and meet with young adult librarian.  Bring your ideas for this brainstorming session. Refreshments will be served.

  • Mexican Taco Night - March 18, 6 p.m.-9 p.m.

Dinner and a movie for kids in first through fifth grade. Enjoy delicious tacos with the works and churros for dessert while watching the rated "G" movie - Megamind. Space is limited to 15 and costs $12 per child. Call 631-451-TOWN or visit www.brookhaven.org to register and more information.

  • Bayport-Blue Point Little League Field Clean Up Day - March 19

All kids and parents can join the Little League in getting the ball fields in playing condition for opening day on April 9.

  • Make It Take It Clay Pot Event - March 19, 10 a.m. - Noon

Turn a clay pot into a giant decorative cupcake for ages 3 and up.  You have to purchase the clay pot, but everything else is free while supplies last.

  • Read Across America - March 19, 1 p.m.-2 p.m.

Teens in grades 6-12 will choose books to read to younger children for this national event.  Teens must register to read, younger kids can just show up to listen.

  • BAFFA Middle School Art Exhibit - March 19 & 20, 1-4 p.m.

Enjoy the creative and talent artwork from Bayport-Blue Point Middle School students and other local artists.  No charge for this event.

  • Tiny Tots Learning Center Open House - March 22, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m.

Come see what has to offer your pre-schooler.  They have been serving the community for more then 33 years.  Morning and afternoon sessions are for ages 3-5 with 2/3/5 day programs.
